Research by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) found that for the average 17 year old with no previous driving experience that 45 hours of professional training plus 22 additional practice hours with an ADI provides the best chance of passing the practical test.

 

Figures shown below are based on regular 2 hour sessions per week. Remember this is only a guide, everyone is individual in their training requirements and some people require more time.
